Sustaining Asia’s development amidst the COVID-19 pandemic: capacity development and governance innovation

Resilience is of paramount importance in dealing with a prolonged pandemic such as COVID-19, which all countries inevitable suffer through multiple stages adversity. Many Asian were initially hard hit by the pandemic, but some them displayed remarkable ability to withstand these shocks, overcome despair, and bounce back quickly. This special issue examines two aspects resilience building policy responses crises COVID-19 – capacity development governance innovation. Capacity can be key factor determining effectiveness health emergency preparedness, surveillance, response, recovery systems for unprecedented public like innovation also plays role strengthening roles non-government actors crises, efficacy science-policymaking interactions, uses disruptive technologies.
